Altered Mirror

Thought you might like to see my altered mirror that I made last week when my crafting buddies came to play. It started off as a plain wooden Ikea mirror and with the help of some embossed card, acrylic paints, mod podge and Artisan water oil paints turned into something rather different.












And just to prove my buddies were working rather hard here's a pic of them and our finished masterpieces which just needed to dry for a few days before adding the final gloss coat.






Aren't they all fab. Really enjoyed doing that and the mirror will be going to my mum for Mothers Day for her hall.
We also made our Faux leather covers using Sheena's tutorial but will blog that later as need to finish the inside first which could take a while lol.

Cards and a hello

Hi all
Well I am being certainly bad at this blogging lark lately. Have popped in and visited some blogs but that's about it!
Have managed some cards and I just have to add a final coat to a mirror I altered and that's about it. Haven't really done much with my scan n cut too though the last card I used the machine to cut the layers and sentiment .Not sleeping well lately and that tends to have a knock on effect on my crafting.
Anyway here are some of my recent cards.

Happy Birthday Mum and Guy

Hi all,well pleased to say the weather is settling back down again here and we have had some sun! Also my cold on the way out at last.
Anyway onto my cards and the first one is for my mum and I followed a tutorial over at Splitcoaststampers









Used First Edition 'daydream' papers. Letters from stash. Card is a combo of papermania and stampin up. Memory box die 'flutter'. Tim Holtz 'tattered florals' die and brad.



And I actually made a card using my Brother Scan n Cut. Stamped the dinosaurs on the background and then everything else done on scan n cut.
At moment though I am waiting for a spare blade to arrive as it seems I have a faulty one so not been using the machine as much as I would have liked. The other blade is fine and cuts through thick materials really well.

Collection of cards

Just some of the cards that I made recently using limited craft items when unable to get in the craft room. Then I added embellishments and stamped greetings once back in craft room.






Used 'swirls' embossing folder, stampin up 'flower shop' stamp set and matching die. Stamped greeting is from the stampin up set ' four you'.












Don't worry re the wonky gems, sorted them out but forgot to re photo

















Finding it hard to get motivated to go regularly in the craft room at the moment but the latest cold I have is on the way out so hopefully normal service will resume shortly. I have this week off so looking forward to some crafting.

Flood photos and Scan n Cut

Hi all,yet another horrible day here in Devon, unable to go outside with the children today as so wet and windy!
Fingers crossed not too much damage done today down the seafront. We now have lost part of the roof of the little shed so with the damage done to our big shed and broken fence panels it's becoming expensive :-(
Hope you are all safe and dry and not suffering damage to your properties.
These pictures are from last wednesday when we had the bad storm and it has been the worst I have ever seen here in 25 hrs, just glad we no longer live by the seafront.






























My heart goes out to those people who have been flooded out.
I do have some good news though that my special delivery turned up on Monday and I am now the proud owner of a Scan n Cut :-)

Back in the land of crafting :-)

Hi all, well am finally back and installed in my craft room again. Bet you haven't even missed me lol.
Had to give up my craft room and some of the house whilst middle son moved in for a while until he could move into his new place and as much as I loved having him, its nice to have my craft room back.
And I celebrated by moving it around again!















Loving the new layout but know its going to be a pain when guests visit but maybe I can dissuade them lol.
Managed to make a few cards with limited resources which have recently finished so will add soon but I did attend another felt workshop and this is what I made



The one on the left I made at the workshop and the other one I made when I got home complete with scarf.
I did find my crafting mojo went into hiding and I have read a lot of books instead but now I am back and can't wait to catch up with your blogs.
Am home today as waiting for a extra special delivery which my husband has brought me for our wedding anniversary. Will add pics next time and would love to hear if you have got one too.

Wall hanging

Hi all, hope you are all safe and dry, more wet weather predicted down here today so will be hibernating once I have walked Sam. This is a pic of the seafront where I live from yesterday



Anyway I made this wall hanging for my mum who was down for Christmas



And she liked it :-)
