My beloved Sam

Well it's certainly windy outside today and heavy rains are forecast all day. My heart goes out to those affected by the floods and make me grateful for my dry house.
I attended another Felting workshop run by the talented Joan Prowse who did a special master class for us all on request.
We all brought a photo of our chosen model and of course I had to choose Sam. Still miss him loads :-(

So first off all we had to create the basic shape of the head and start to build layers up. So grateful that Joan was on hand with expert tips and advice as really wanted to do justice to this

And this is the final version of my felted Sam. I even incorporated some of Sam's hair in his face to make it more special. Just need to go and get it framed now so I can have him near me at all times

And these were all the completed projects. What a amazing and talented bunch of ladies and also friends :-)

So if you fancy learning something new for 2016 I would highly recommend dry felting. I started out with a small flower and now the world is my oyster. Though as hubby says not another hobby lol

Craft room makeover and a card

Hi all
Well I am now a official empty nester after our youngest son moved out to live with his girlfriend. And as sadly I lost my beloved Sam at the end of June you an imagine how quiet and tidy the house is!
This is one of the last photos taken of Sam and Peter. Sam always liked to sit up, we think he thought he was one of the boys :-)

Anyway I have spent the last week painting his room to be the new guest room as luckily all the boys keep popping back and this led me to finally properly sorting out my craft room.
These are some before photos

So not too bad as I am a tidy crafter but also not matching as I have built my collection of free storage over the years. So on Thursday it was a trip to Ikea

Which then lead to this

Along with a matching work top to follow on from the oak unit I already had

Filled up with red and black boxes and drawers and all labelled

So I know have a bigger desk, matching storage and a guest room!
And this is the card I made just before I moved everything around

Ingredients used -
Mama Elephant 'Birthday wishes' stamps for sentiments
Lawn Fawn 'stitched circles' die
Glitter card from stash
Docrafts - gems

Having a crafty day with friends today and then will be catching up with your blogs x

MISTI Stamping tool and cards

Hi all, well the weather outside isn't very nice at the moment so I think a day of crafting is in order. One of my best craft purchases has to be the MISTI stamping tool and it's earned its cost loads over.

No more mistamping, perfect alignment and excellent for mass production.
I purchased mine from My Sweet Petunia and the two week wait for delivery from America was worth it though shame about the customs charge!

Ingredients used -

MFT 'Some-bunny loves you' stamp set & coloured with copics
Lawn Fawn 'Polka Mon Amie' design paper.
Spellbinder oval and scallop nesties
Kort & Godt pearls

Cock-a-doodle-doo!!

Well I think my hubby is certainly giving me a challenge at the moment lol.
I have been getting him to pick out a card from my stamp index ( latest organisation project ) before he goes to work and then I make a card using the stamp set on it.
This is the stamp he choose which was a freebie from the magazine Craft Stamper.

And this is the finished card using the offending roaster!

Ingredients used -

Craft Stamper freebie stamp
Lawn Fawn - Polka Mon Amie design paper
Mama Elephant - 'Birthday wishes' for the sentiment
Woodware punch - leaves
Stampin up punch - label
Kraft card, flowers and gems from stash

Wonder what he will choose next!

Happy birthday Sher

Well today's card is for a lovely lady who goes to the Bristol craft group I belong too. Sadly we both didn't get to the January meet so looking forward to catching up in February.

Enjoyed making this one and used my new Intense pencils to colour in, love the bold colour and the fact it's permanent when it's dry and you can go back in and add more colour.
Ingredients for card - Stampin up 'simply sketched' stamp set, coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils, stampin up card stock and stampin up punch for greeting.

Happy crafting x

60th Birthday card and Jewellery

Hi all
Well am trying to get back into the swing of blogging regularly again :-)
So it's my Aunts 60th birthday soon and here is a card and necklace and bracelet that I made her. Ruffling the ribbon was certainly a challenge on the card lol

I used Stampin Up 'Morning Meadow' stamp set and used London Fog memento ink for the background and sentiment. 'Barn door' distress ink for the pansies and to match the ribbon which was from my stash. Pansy punch is from Stampin up also but a bugger to line up with the flower. Card, gems and pearls all from stash. Idea for card came from Pinterest, I love that place.

Beads etc all from my stash of jewellery items which I have been amassing since I went to the NEC which was impressive!
Happy crafting x
