WOYWW - spooky things!

Hi all, i am here and i did miss joining in last week with Julia and everyone  re'Whats on your workdesk Wednesday' but my craft room had been taken over during the week by the loft contents as it was being insulated. Luckily thats all done and after spending all day saturday putting it back was able to get back into my craft room retreat :)

Anyway this is a picture of my desk taken in the midst of making halloween tags for a swop over on Docrafts. I had made a spiders web using scal and my cricut for a stencil and used black soot distress ink over the top. You can also see my martha stewart cobweb punches (which i didnt use), diecuts cut out using the cricut,my ink pads in their named individual bags on a jump ring. The wreath is one i made at a workshop at Exeter craft show using gilded flakes and to the left hanging down is a silver spider bookmark i got from my friend Kelly who saw it and thought of me :)
So if you want to join in or find out a bit more about woyww, just pop over to see Julia at the Stamping ground . And this is the finished tag
And for those who asked about my crafting gloves from the last woyww i joined in you can find them here and they keep my hands warm and toasty.Well my old cat Mitzi decided she wanted to get our attention early this morning (5.30am!) so shall be coasting along today i reckon but will visit all blogs with the same numbers as me when i post over at Julia's blog and anyone who leaves me a comment,x

Owl Wall Hanging and new stash

Hi all, hope you enjoying this gorgeous weather, been out for a long walk, done the dreaded housework so now its play time and i have finished of a wall hanging that i started to make when i had a Cricut playday at Sandras house. All made using SCAL,my fave part of my Cricut as love tinkering and changing around.
I used core card, ribbon from stash and a Tim Holtz paper pack (retro grunge) which was rather lush and just right for the colour i needed, here is a close up of my fave owl, isnt he cute.
Had a lovely morning with hubby yesterday exploring charity shops looking for bargains and whilst out managed to gather this little lot.

Gesso and charms were from the Works, going to have a go at making my first altered book using these fab tutorials here  hence the gesso and the charms were a bargain, reduced to 59p each and then buy one get one free so you can see i went a little mad.....lol.Picked up a £1 chalkboard which i am going to alter to go above my desk and found in one the charity shops these playing cards for a bargain price of 10p and last and not least got these lush ribbons in Lidls on the way home so a good shopping trip :)
Now i just need to decide do i start my altered book,do some more tag pages or stamp some more images as i have decided to catalogue my stamp collection....ok i know i am mad but i like to do those things.....lol
Any way have a fab day and thanks for visiting,x

For my mum

Thought i would show you the rest of what i have been making my mum lately. This is for Mothers Day and i made this when i had a cricut crafting day with Sandra and Sophie and used the Enchanted sparrow paperscape svg file which i purchased from here.
Used paper and card from stash and added gems to the flowers and ribbon to hang it up.
Also made a napkin fold card for mum as its a special birthday for her and wanted to make a different style card, also made a box to contain it.

You can find the instructions for the napkin fold card here.

I have been moving stuff around again and have changed my craft room layout so keep a eye out for lots of pics on my next post.Off to have a nosey at your blogs,x

Playing with SCAL

Hi all, well my mojo lately has been well and truly hidden especially with the joys and stress of work so no cards at the moment but i have been playing with my cricut create which my lovely sons brought me as a early mothers day pressie as i had the chance to get one second hand. Been tinkering with the free trial of scal which you can find here along with tutorials, support, free svg files and more.
Well to cut a long story short my hubby kindly paid for me to purchase the full package of scal and i am having fun again!
Thanks must go to sue who is a member of docrafts and a expert on diecutting and you can also find her blog here as she has been most helpful and egged me on....lol
This is my first attempt at using a image and adding letters and welding and my 2nd version is even better but thought you might like to see what i have made and yes i know its early for christmas :)
